One of the most important missions at Dos Cuerpos is to understand the background of all our products— who crafts them, why and how— as well as the historical, social, and artistic aspects that our products have held. That's why we want to share with you the medicinal uses of mezcal that you might not have known. Traditionally, the mezcal from the first two distillations is used to alleviate physical discomfort. In various communities, communal distillations known as "puntas" or "cabezas" are conducted so that anyone in need can access it. The agave Tobalá is the most commonly used for these distillations.
Healing Methods:
Mezcal bath or mist: Used to treat fever or shock.
Utilized for liver and kidney conditions.
Mezcal gargle: Relieves toothaches, gum pain, and mouth ulcers.
Used to alleviate ulcers, blood clots, and asthma.

Charred agave leaves are also used to reduce inflammation.

Cooked mezcal is used as a remedy for cough and other respiratory ailments.
Used to lower cholesterol and triglyceride levels: Dissolves fats.
Used to aid sleep: Acts as an anti-stress drink that stimulates brain connections.
Some even say it enhances creativity.
Prevents degenerative diseases.
Used postpartum: Reduces abdominal inflammation.
Prevents constipation.
