One of the most important missions at Dos Cuerpos is to understand the background of all our products. That's why today, we wanted to share with you the agaves that are used in mezcal production. There are 200 different agave varieties, and 150 of them are endemic to Mexico. For mezcal production, approximately 25 agaves are used. As an interesting fact and to grasp the significance of the state of Oaxaca in the world of this spirit, 60 agave species are found only here. Without further ado, here's the list of agaves:

At Dos Cuerpos, we specialize in tastings and the distribution of agave spirits and Mexican wines. Tasting is the reflection of the alcohol to be sampled, and in that sense, these texts aim to promote continuous reflection. Let us know if you enjoyed this text, if it helped you in any way, and if there are any discrepancies, please feel free to let us know.
